Be A Santa to a Senior

This year ASTER will be a co-host of the La Crescenta Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. Since ASTER's focus is about seniors it was only prudent to have a senior theme somewhere in the ceremony or the location, La Crescenta Library, 2908 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta. This year ASTER chose to partner with Home Instead Senior Care to bring a wonderful community service program to the La Crescenta Library; "Be a Santa to a Senior".

Hundreds of Seniors go through the holiday season without friends, family or a small holiday gift. "Be a Santa to a Senior" helps to prevent a senior from going through the holiday season without a gift. A special tree will be located in the lobby of the La Crescenta Library this year from November 15th through December 11th. Tags will be placed on the tree for giving community members to take, purchase a gift listed on the tag and bring the gift and the tag back to the Library. The gifts will then be picked up, wrapped and then given to the senior for the holiday.
